Hold onto your seats because the excitement is just too much to handle! Just kidding, the market couldn’t get any duller if you tried. With the European situation being constructively addressed, that part of the equation has been tempered in terms of market sentiment. No news releases of major import to be announced today adds to the lack of direction and activity. Precious metals look like they will be stuck range bound today even though we see Gold and Silver ETFs grew last week signaling a positive support. On the flip side the PGM ETFs have lost some holdings showing more weakness from the point of view of the long term investor. One factor that is not being talked about is the slow wind down of MF Global. From what I understand the Exchanges are still holding onto margin money under orders of the US government while they continue their investigation into a missing 600 million dollars. But these funds being locked down is not only hurting the account holders but the market as well. Because of this there is less activity since these traders are sidelined while they wait to get their capital back. Between lack of news, improving Euro Zone situation and MF Global frozen assets we can expect to see very little new direction from the markets today.
